Claregalway is a small town, 10 miles north of Galway city and is home to the ruins of Claregalway friary. The Claregalway Friary is a medieval Franciscan abbey and can be seen from the main road through Claregalway. Today, the abbey buildings and grounds are open to the public free of charge.
