Postcard From Ireland: Castlewellan Castle

castlewellan 2 afc WEB C

Built by the 4th Earl Annesly in the Scottish Baronial style in 1856 Castlewellan Castle  is located in a large  forest park and is framed by the Mountains of Mourne.  Below the castle is a scenic lake. The estate includes the lovely, walled Annesly Gardens. The castle is currently used as a Christian Conference Center. Forest walks, a three-acre peace maze, ponds and fishing on the lake make it a center of activity for the local area.
