What’s a good golf course for a very amateur golfer?

– Mike via email

There is no shortage of golf courses in Ireland, and they range from basic courses to some of the best links courses in the world.

Since you don’t have a particular course in mind, I would recommend checking with your accommodation hosts. They will know nearby courses that will suit your needs and will not require a time-consuming trek to reach a golf course.

You may also be interested in smaller course called Par 3 or Pitch and Putt courses. These are not Putt-Putt courses, but rather smaller-scale golf experiences. Many of these courses are listed at http://www.golf.discoverireland.ie/Golf-Courses/Pitch-and-putt-par-3.
