Ireland Audio Tours You Can Download Today
There was a time when an audio tour was something you picked up at the desk of a museum, which in turn, allowed an unseen academic to pour a stream of facts into your ear as you wandered from beep to beep. Sure there are plenty of those lecture-in-your-ear tours still available, but a fantastic crop of new audio guides are taking advantage of mobile technology.
These new experiences let you download the content before your trip. That means it’s handy whenever you want to listen. Now your commute to work, your workout at the gym, and your walk with the dog are opportunities to conduct some trip research. Even better, many of these tours enhance the time you give them with the addition of music, sound effects, and even radio theater.
Showcasing Ireland’s Best Downloadable Audio Guides
We created this infographic to highlight the places in Ireland that have their own audio tours available right now. Some are downloadable mp3s while others are built into smartphone apps. There’s a mix of free and paid tours on the list… (FYI – I’ve had a listen to the paid versions and give them my stamp of approval).

We are developing an audio app that will be ready at the end of April.
This will be available with Abarta Guides.
Great. I look forward to checking it out. Let me know when it’s ready.
