Finding Your Namesake Pub in Ireland

Sometimes it happens by accident, sometimes itineraries are built around it… for many, finding a pub or castle or town with their family name on it offers a very fun photo op.

Look how much fun the Smyth’s are having in Dublin in front of the pub that shares their name.

  1. Well, not a pub but a chipper! McDonagh’s of Galway, which is also a sit-down seafood restaurant with good food and cool service – even after they learned my name.

  2. Well, with a name like mine, you’ll not be surprised when I tell you that photo ops were in abundance when I spent the month of March in Ireland! It was like coming home :O)
    My favourite photo op was in front of a rack of Paddy’s Old Irish Whiskey at the Jameson’s Distillery in Midleton, Co. Cork.
