Finding a Bit of Ireland Close to Home
There’s just something about an Irish festival.
Sure, they may take on some very non-Irish traits — there aren’t many spots on Emerald Isle where you’ll see a troop of young dancers wearing giant curly wigs, twenty-something men donning kilts, and families posing for photos in front of paper-mache high crosses — but there are also few places that can offer such a lineup of live music, storytelling, genealogical research, Irish language sessions, history lessons, tourism opportunities, and the camaraderie shared by those with an interest in all things Irish.
For those who don’t live in Ireland, these annual festivals and events put Eire front and center within their community.
A List of Irish Festivals
That’s why we’ve added a special category to our Ireland Travel Kit smartphone app and website. The Festivals Worldwide category lists annual events with an Irish focus. We’re hoping it’ll introduce you to a new event AND help promote the festivals you love.
Visit the list at www.IrelandTravelKit.com, and be sure to tell us about any festivals you think we should add to the list.
