Irish inspiration can be found in every bit of Karen Newhouse’s work. In this intaglio print, the necks of the birds create an intricate Celtic knotwork design. For these prints, Karen makes all her own plates and runs them on an etching press in her tiny studio. For this piece, she draws the design directly on a metal plate with a steel stylus which limits the number of final prints from each plate to less than twelve.
