Cork’s English Market

English Market

Hidden in plain sight, Cork’s indoor English Market offers a secret city within the center of town. After Ireland With Kids reminded us Don’t Miss the English Market in Cork and RTÉ Radio 1’s Documentary called Cork’s Hidden Village, I’m keen to return.

My favorite line from the documentary came from a merchant who followed in her mother’s footsteps in the market, “My mother fed Cork.” That comment summed it up… people in the market really do see themselves as a vital part of the community. I must say, the documentary also shows us there are some wonderful characters selling in the market as well.

  1. Hidden in plain sight is right! But a treasure trove of delight once you enter! Thanks for the link!
