Piano player Roy tells how he became a part of the scenery at the Hotel Meyrick in Galway. Gotta say, this is a wonderful peek at some “local colour” in Ireland… and has me remembering my trip to the City of Tribes last summer.

Roy has become a Galway institution!
I recently met his 3 daughters who came over from the UK to celebrate his birthday.
He drives the scooter all round town – I was surprised to see he didn’t drive up the hotel steps all the way to the piano!
His playing is refined and understated. It really enhances time spent in the hotel.
