Artists Eye: Cottage with Sheep as Company

artists eye
Cottage with Sheep as Company by Aileen Clark www.aileenclarkecrafts.com

Much of Aileen Clark’s work is inspired by her favorite remote parts of Scotland and Ireland. She hand felted this landscape using traditional wet felting and needle felting techniques. She combines hand dyed and carded fibres from the Scottish islands as well as wool and yarn from
Scotland and Ireland.

Her first trip to Ireland in 1995 included a full pallet of traditional music and singing at sessions. She returns nearly every year, including a year in County Mayo. Her favorite area is west Kerry where she soaks up inspiration sketching by the sea and capturing little scenes with her camera.
