Cahergall Stone Fort in County Kerry, Ireland

Last week we posted a video from Staigue Fort on the Ring of Kerry. Today I wanted to share a photo of one of my favorite stone forts in Ireland. This one near Cahirsaveen, has been reconstructed. When you go inside, you get a sense of just how huge and formidable these structures were. The walls are extraordinarily thick and even have rooms built into them in some places. The photo below gives you a sense of the scale.
