In this oil pastel painting, Tanya Bonds introduces us to one of Ireland famed mythological creatures… the Banshee. Legend claims that her piercing cries can be heard when someone is about to die.

Tanya lives in Birr, County Offaly, and admits she has never heard the wail of the banshee.

  1. Isn’t Tanya fantastic! I love her work. I have a few of her Thatchies on my fridge. I was just in her online gallery earlier and think I may have to order her Guiness Rat in a magnet, as well.

    I may just need to detour and meet her for tea when I am over in June!
