A Year of Irish Arts in America
It’s a special year for those with an interest in Irish arts in the United States. The Irish government has invested $5.2 million in Imagine Ireland, a program that will connect U.S. audiences with over 2,000 artists at 400 events in 40 cities. With special presentations of visual arts, music, dance, literature, film and theater, the year-long event is intended to celebrate Irish culture.
I’d still say a trip to Ireland is the best way to experience Irish culture, but for those who can’t visit and for those who didn’t think they had an interest in Irish art, these events will offer a taste of what Ireland has to offer… and once one wets their whistle, they *still* should book a trip for an experience on Irish soil
Here’s what the Wall Street Journal had to say about the program >>
