You’ve always thought your Irish ancestry should count for something, right! Especially when it comes to traveling to Ireland.
Well, the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs might agree with you. They are considering a proposal that would award people of Irish descent a special card that could be used for discounts when they visit Ireland. Applicants would be required to prove their Irish heritage, but the qualifications would not be as restrictive as the provisions for Irish citizenship (and, no, this card won’t help you get citizenship).
