Aer Lingus Going Fare Crazy

Irish tourism is hurting (I thought the signs were evident back in January, but it took this long before major players like Aer Lingus really stepped up their game). Aer Lingus has dropped fares from Boston, New York and Chicago to under $200 each way. Be sure to click the “Flexible Dates” button when searching for flights to help you find lowest-priced days to travel.

Last week, flights from Chicago were averaging $350 or more each way! The August rates haven’t really changed, but loads of dates through March 2010 are coming up at $194 (add about $100 for taxes and charges – these are clearly noted after you select a flight). The deals officially last through Monday.

Add these sales to those being offered by Aer Lingus Vacation Store… these INCLUDE FLIGHT AND CAR RENTAL for a great price… and July is an excellent time to book trips between now and the end of February. More info from Condé Nast Traveler.

Let me warn you. The Aer Lingus Vacation Store is a bit “clunky” for visitors to use. It’s not all that easy to maneuver once you get beyond the front page, so feel free to call them at 1-800-495-1632 if you get tired of fighting the technology.

I must confess, I find it kind of funny that Aer Lingus is featuring “land only” packages. Clearly the Aer Lingus Vacation Store is a very separate arm from the airline itself.

YAY!!! This should help me get back soon. I have been finding loads of great Ireland travel deals in the last few weeks. It’s about time they caught up with the bargins.
