This week, we share one of our visits to the lakeside village of Garrykennedy where Larkin’s hosted live music and traditional Irish dance every Wednesday evening this summer. This session was a bit more contemporary…with hired performers, amplified sound and a mix of traditional and modern songs, but it still kept a very cozy atmosphere.
This is one of those pubs that is popular with the locals…our friends in the area visit there about once a week. Yet in the summer months, the place draws a lot of the Lough Derg tourists as well. It makes for an interesting combination of people.
If you look closely, you’ll get a glimpse of our friend Theresa playing accordion behind the dancers in the clip.
