Lough Derg

corey says…Today we met our friends Eddie, Sheelagh and Rory for breakfast at the Pantry in Nenagh. Our friends from Philadelphia showed up as well, and we managed a quick hello to them.

After breakfast, Eddie was going to take us on a boat trip to Holy Island in the middle of Lough Derg, but the water was too choppy, so we spent some time on the lakefront exploring Rory’s property there. He has a great piece of land with several ruined buildings and a stretch of land along the lake. It was a wonderfully peaceful walk…even with Tony’s black and blue big toe from dropping a giant slate on it two days earlier.

We then had a light lunch at Coolbawn Quay…Tony and I had dinner plans with his neighbors and we knew we were in for quite a feed!

And it was a wonderful feed we had. Tony’s neighbor’s Jimmy and Kathleen treated us to a wonderful feast and a great visit.
